Creating the Command Interface
After creating the Prize Table, the script creates two new commands using the command manager api from yimv2. The first command, cas_lw, is a List command. As you can see in the screenshot above, this is how we create the drop-down box (scrollable) that lists all available prizes. We pass a default index of 18 to the list. By coincidence, this index corresponds to our Podium Vehicle prize, thus it will be the one displayed when we load the menu for the first time.
The Second command, cas_forcelw, is were most of the magic happen. We register this command as a Looping command. Therefore, it run every frames instead of just firing one time. Within the Loop, the script checks if the casino_lucky_wheel script is currently running. If it is, it retrieves a Script Local reference (a Pointer to that scripts local variables array). Specifically to local slot #150, index #5, scope = Player. Then we write to that memory location the value of the option currently selected in the cas_lw drop down box.
As long as this loop keeps running while the casino_lucky_wheel script is active, each time a user clicks Spin, the Game logic will read out this written-in-ahead-of-time value and use it as its official result. Even though the game wheel continues to animate and turn around; what has really happened here is that the game itself has been tricked into treating the results ahead of time as the real thing.
Rendering (Bottom Half of the script)
We are now going to render something. Once again using imgui, we draw a little window at the bottom of the Recovery Menu labeled Lucky Wheel. Since this window belongs to the Casino Category; it will appear there. It does two things. First off, it indicates whether or not there is a valid prize being held within it by checking the same memory location that was being written to by the loop. If that location contains -1, it renders “None” in a gray disabled text style. Otherwise it finds the matching name in the prize table and renders it in Green.
